My main medium is glass, which I love working with - painting, casting and fusing it to create illuminated illustrations.
Always curious about different ways of creating, I delight in the alchemical nature of combining different elements and passing through various stages to create a piece of embodied light which tells a story.
I’m interested in depicting the mystery of life and our often unseen deep intimacy with it. I find this in poetry, folk and wisdom traditions, myths and dreams ~ and in nature herself.
I live and work in a quirky seventeenth century farmhouse by a mossy waterfall in a remote Scottish valley, with my cat Tashi and the red squirrels and wagtails, bats and badgers, newts, owls, hares and herons who also make this their home.
I hope that a touch of the beautiful misty magic that’s so abundant here finds its way into the illustrations I create.
